The parable of the
lost coin is the story of a woman who loses one of her ten silver
coins.I excitedly search my entire house and let out a
cheer when I find the coin. After locating it, I treat the coin as
if it’s more valuable than all the other nine coins combined.
The significance of
this story for me was the recurring theme in these parables of
judgment.I finally found the one coin I had lost. Even
though each of the coins had the same monetary value, to me, the
one I had lost was suddenly worth so much more. It was like finding
a piece of me that had been missing. The other coins, although
equal in value to the one I had found, paled in comparison.
I’ve been down the wrong path, but I’m
determined to make it right. I’m sure that God values me more than
those who say they’re good but never repent. It’s clear that if I
turn away from my sinful ways, I’m more likely to be welcomed into
the kingdom than those who don’t. I understand it’s going to be
hard, but I’m ready to put in the effort to make sure I’m living a
life that’s pleasing to God. I’m ready to be forgiven and to find a
place in His kingdom.
This parable
teaches us that God is a loving and forgiving person.I
have been lost, feeling lost, and unsure of my place in the world.
But, I have found that I can still repent and be welcomed back into
God’s kingdom. There is still hope for me, despite the mistakes I
have made. I can take solace in the knowledge that I am not alone,
and that I can still be found and be forgiven. My faith gives me
the strength to carry on, and to be renewed. I am never too far
gone, and I can still find my place in the kingdom of heaven.
I understand God is more fond of those who
acknowledge their sins and strive to follow Him than those who deny
any wrongdoing. This parable teaches us that no matter how far we
may have strayed, God is loving and understanding. He is always
ready to welcome us back with open arms when we make an effort to
better ourselves. His forgiveness is limitless and He offers us a
chance to make amends and live an honorable life through His
eyes.
