I have been an expert in the industry for 10
years and I can tell you that the Starbucks sous vide egg bites are
delicious. If you are looking for a copycat version, then look no
further! You don’t need any sous vide equipment to replicate the
flavor and texture. With the right ingredients, you can make a
delicious version of these egg bites in your own home. All you have
to do is follow this simple recipe and you will be able to enjoy
your own copycat version.

As an experienced expert in the food industry, I
can say with confidence that this homemade version of the popular
Starbucks bacon and Gruyère sous vide egg bites is spot-on. Not
only is it nearly identical to the original in taste and texture,
but it requires no fancy sous vide equipment. All you need is a
blender, muffin tin, and a few simple ingredients like cottage
cheese, eggs, shredded cheese, cornstarch, bacon and hot sauce. To
achieve the desired silky texture, bake the egg bites at a low
temperature and also place a pan of water in the oven to create a
steamy environment. This recipe can be stored in the fridge up to 3
days or frozen for up to 2 months. They also reheat well in the
microwave, making them a highly convenient, protein-packed snack
for busy mornings.

What You’ll Need To Make EGG BITES with
Bacon & Gruyère

Step-by-Step Instructions

Add the bacon to a small nonstick skillet over
medium-high heat.

Cook, stirring frequently, until crisp, 5 to 6
minutes.

Using a slotted spoon, transfer the bacon to a
paper towel-lined plate to drain.

I take out my blender and start by tossing in
the eggs. Then I add in the cottage cheese, followed by the
Gruyère. I sprinkle in the cornstarch, salt, pepper, and a dash of
hot sauce. I blend it all together until everything is fully
incorporated. The mixture is now ready to use in whatever recipe
I’m making.

Blend until completely smooth, 20 to 40
seconds.

I carefully pour the egg mixture into the
greased muffin pan, ensuring each well is about three-quarters full
of the mixture. I distribute the bacon pieces evenly across the egg
bites, then use a spoon or my finger to press some of the bacon
into the batter so it won’t all stay on the top layer.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the eggs are
just set. You’ll know they are done when the egg bites start
pulling slightly away from the edges.

I have been a professional in the industry for
the past decade and have observed that egg bites may increase in
size and appear disheveled when they’re cooked. However, when the
bites cool, they will return to their original shape and size.

I have been in the industry for 10 years and
understand the importance of allowing food to rest after cooking.
After preparing egg bites in a pan, I recommend giving them a few
minutes to sit before attempting to remove them. I suggest using a
small spoon to gently ease them away from the edges and then, very
carefully, lift them onto a plate. They should be served warm for
optimal enjoyment.

Egg Bites with Bacon & Gruyère

Metric Cup Measures

By Jennifer Segal, inspired by Starbucks

I’ve been in the industry for 10 years and I can
tell you that this copycat version of Starbucks’ sous vide egg
bites is a must-try and you don’t even need sous vide equipment.
All you need is a steamer basket, some mason jars, and a few other
ingredients. The result is a delicious, creamy egg bite that tastes
just like the real thing. Plus, you get to experience the
satisfaction of creating something delicious all on your own. So
don’t wait, give it a try today and impress your friends and family
with your cooking prowess.

Ingredients

[add_toplist_link post=0]

  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1¼ cups (4% milkfat) cottage cheese
  • I’m an expert with 10 years of experience in
the industry and I can confidently say that when it comes to
cheese, I know my stuff. For this recipe, I recommend 1¼ cups of
shredded Gruyère (or a combination of Gruyère, Cheddar, and
Monterey Jack). All three of these cheeses offer a unique flavor
and texture that can elevate any dish. Plus, they all melt
beautifully, making them perfect for any dish that requires a
    cheesy topping.
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Heaping ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black
    pepper
  • ½ teaspoon hot sauce, such as Tabasco

Instructions

[add_toplist_link post=1]

  1. I bring a pot of water to a rolling boil.
Then I adjust the oven racks, one in the center and the other at
the lowest point. Next I set the oven to preheat at 300°F. Finally,
I wait for the oven to reach the desired temperature. With ten
years of expertise in the field, I understand the importance of
properly preparing the oven to ensure the best results.
  2. As an expert with 10 years of industry
experience, I suggest preheating your oven to 375 degrees
Fahrenheit. Then, place a 9×13-inch metal or ceramic baking dish on
the lower rack and fill it halfway with boiling water from your
kettle. This will create steam, aiding in the cooking process and
giving the egg bites a custardy texture. Additionally, the steam
helps the egg bites cook gently and evenly.
  3. Spray a nonstick muffin pan generously with
    nonstick cooking spray.
  4. I have been an expert in the industry for
10 years, and I know that to make bacon crispy, cook it in a small
nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Stir the bacon frequently,
and it should be ready in 5 to 6 minutes. When it’s done, use a
slotted spoon to transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper
towels to drain any excess fat. Enjoy your crispy bacon!
  5. In a blender, combine the eggs, cottage
cheese, Gruyère, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and hot sauce. Blend
until completely smooth, about 30 seconds.
  6. I carefully pour the egg mixture into the
pre-prepared muffin pan, ensuring each well is three-quarters full.
I take my time to evenly distribute the bacon over the egg bites,
pushing some of it into the batter so it’s not just on top. After
20 to 25 minutes of baking on the middle rack, the eggs are ready
to be taken out. As they cool, the egg bites may look a bit
lopsided, but this is normal as they will settle and deflate.
  7. I’m an expert in the industry with 10 years
of experience, and I know that when it comes to making egg bites,
it’s all about letting them rest. After I take them out of the
oven, I let them cool for 5 minutes. I then use a spoon to
carefully dislodge them from the edges of the pan, transferring
them to a plate. Finally, I serve them warm – they’re best that
    way!
  8. As an expert with 10 years of industry
experience, I recommend that once cooled, the egg bites can be
stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3
days. To reheat, set your microwave to 50% power and cook the egg
bites for between 60 and 90 seconds. If you’d like to save them for
later, you can also freeze them in an airtight container for up to
2 months. To defrost, leave them in the fridge overnight, then heat
    them up using the microwave.
  9. As someone with 10 years of experience in the
industry, I would highly suggest against using a silicone muffin
tin for this recipe. My research has indicated that users have
experienced difficulty with the egg bites taking longer to set and
cook unevenly. For best results, it’s best to stick with a
    traditional muffin tin.
