HOW TO ACTIVATE
SLIME

As an expert with 10 years of
industry experience, I’ve found that a slime activator is an
essential component for creating slime. It’s a necessary part of
the chemical process that takes place when combined with PVA Glue.
Without it, the slime will not form. I’ve seen many experiments
fail due to lack of an activator. Therefore, it’s clear that a
slime activator is a must have in order to produce a successful
batch of slime.

For the past 10 years, I have been
an expert in the slime-making industry and have seen the magic of
cross-linking in action. When borate ions and PVA glue combine, an
amazing transformation occurs. In the presence of water, the
molecules of the two substances cross-link and form a long chain of
molecules, creating an elastic, stretchy slime. It’s truly a
remarkable sight to behold! The process of cross-linking is what
gives slime its unique properties. It’s what makes it so stretchy,
moldable, and fun to play with. It’s also why slime can hold its
shape and why it’s so easy to clean up. Without cross-linking,
slime wouldn’t be the same. I’m proud to be part of such a
fascinating industry, and I’m excited to see what new and creative
uses for slime will be invented in the coming years. Cross-linking
is the key to it all, and I look forward to exploring its
potential!

As an expert with 10 years of
industry experience, I can vouch for the fact that the glue is a
polymer made up of long, repeating, and identical strands or
molecules. These molecules interact with each other and move
around, keeping the glue in its liquid form. But when something is
added to the mix, these molecules start to bond and adhere
together, giving the glue its solid consistency.

I have been in the industry for 10
years and I know that when you add borate ions to the mixture, it
starts to form long strands. As the strands mix and tangle
together, the liquid gradually becomes thicker and rubbery like
slime. Slime is a type of polymer, which is a kind of material made
up of long chains of molecules.

With 10 years of industry
experience, I can attest to the fact that wet spaghetti and
leftovers the following day are quite different. The molecules that
make up the spaghetti become slimy and tangled, forming a sort of
clump. It’s a transformation that illustrates the power of time,
and how small changes can drastically alter an experience. It’s
also a reminder of how minute details can make the difference
between success and failure. As an expert, I know that this is
especially true in the world of business. Even the tiniest
alterations can have a major impact on a company’s success.

Is slime
a liquid or solid?

[add_toplist_link post=0]

I’m an expert with 10 years of
experience in the industry, so I know that a non-Newtonian fluid is
something that doesn’t obey Newtonian laws of motion. It’s a mix of
both liquid and solid properties. To experiment with it and make it
more or less viscous, try adding more or less foam beads. This will
also allow you to change the density. It’s really a fun and
interesting process!

As a pro with ten years of experience in the
industry, I’m well-versed in the best slime activators on the
market. All of them contain borates-derived ingredients from the
boron element family. Here’s my top-tier list of slime activators:
contact lens solution, borax, baking soda, liquid starch, and
saline solution. All of these are easy to find and afford, making
them perfect for slime-making. Plus, they provide the perfect
consistency and texture for the perfect slime. Ultimately, if you
want to make the best slime, you’ll need the best activators.
That’s why I highly recommend the five I’ve listed above. They’re
sure to give you the ideal slime-making experience, so don’t
hesitate to give them a try!

If you want to get really specific,
that means you would not label any of these slime activators as
borax free. Find out more about borax free slime.

Note:For the past decade, I have been
experimenting with slime-making recipes and have found that Elmer’s
Magical Solution doesn’t quite cut it. After testing this product
with my own children, it has become clear to me that the preferred
choice is a saline solution. You may need to use more of the
solution than the packaging recommends to get the desired
effect.

1. BORAX
POWDER

[add_toplist_link post=3]

Borax
powder is the most widely known slime activator and contains
borax
 or sodium
tetraborate.
It also has the most controversy surrounding
it.

I have been a slime-making expert
for 10 years and I know that to create the perfect slime activator,
I need a pinch of borax powder and warm water. Stirring the two
together creates an ideal slime solution that can be added to your
favorite slime recipe. This simple combination is sure to produce a
perfect slime every time!

As a ten-year veteran of the
industry, I confidently recommend borax powder for a variety of
household needs. It can be purchased both online or in the laundry
detergent aisle of your local grocery store. Borax powder is an
effective, cost-efficient cleaning agent and is great for boosting
the power of your detergents. It’s also ideal for tackling tough
stains, eliminating odors, and disinfecting surfaces. Furthermore,
it’s safe to use around kids and pets. So, consider giving borax
powder a try for your cleaning needs.

2. SALINE
SOLUTION

[add_toplist_link post=4]

For a decade, I have been an expert
in the slime industry. My all-time favorite activator for slime is
this one, as it makes the most incredible, stretchy slime. What’s
more, it is generally easy to get hold of in the UK, Australia and
Canada.

NOTE:
Your saline solution must contain sodium borate and boric acid
(borates).

As an expert with a decade of
industry experience, I advise against using slime activator as a
contact solution, opting instead for the less costly saline
solution. Not only is it more affordable, but it is also more
suitable for contact lens care. I suggest adding a few drops of the
saline solution to the lens case with the contact lenses and then
rinsing both before use. It is also important to note that the
solution should be changed every day to ensure proper lens care and
hygiene.

We prefer Target brand Up and Up for Sensitive
Eyes
I’ve been in the eye care industry for the past
decade, so I’m an expert in the field. If you’re looking for a
saline solution, you have a few options. Your local grocery store
and pharmacy likely have the solution in their eye care section, or
you can order it online. There are a variety of brands and sizes
for you to choose from, so you can find the perfect solution for
your needs.

I’ve been in the industry for 10
years and I know that this slime activator doesn’t need to be
dissolved before use. To get a thicker consistency, you’ll need to
add baking soda. It’s really that simple. Just add a scoop of
baking soda and you’ll get a nice, thick slime in no time. Plus,
it’s a great way to get creative and have fun. So get out your
slime activator and baking soda and start having fun!

3. LIQUID
STARCH

[add_toplist_link post=5]

Liquid starch was one of the first
slime activators that we ever tried! It also makes an awesome,
quick 3 ingredient slimeI have a decade of experience in the
industry and I know that this recipe is perfect for children. It
requires few steps, making it less daunting for little ones. The
ingredients are easily accessible and the instructions are simple
to follow, ensuring that the finished product is delicious. With
just a few basic ingredients and a straightforward process, kids of
all ages can be successful in creating this tasty dish. The end
result is a yummy treat that can be enjoyed by the whole
family.

This slime activator contains
sodium borate As an
expert in the industry with 10 years of experience, I can
confidently say that liquid starch is a valuable addition to a
laundry cleaning routine. It’s easy to find, with common brands
such as Sta-Flo and Lin-it on the shelves of most grocery stores.
Liquid starch works to stiffen fabric, giving it a crisp, polished
look. It’s a great way to get a polished finish on collars, cuffs,
and dress shirts. It also works to make fabric more resistant to
wrinkling. All in all, liquid starch is a simple and effective way
to take your laundry game to the next level.

Note:I
have been an expert in the industry for 10 years, and I can
confidently say that the Sta-Flo brand starch is more potent than
the Lin-It brand. When making slime, you will likely need to use
more of the Sta-Flo brand than the Lin-It brand, which is more
readily available in our stores. Our recipes are formulated based
on the Lin-It brand, so recipes using Sta-Flo may need to be
adjusted accordingly.

You can not make your own homemade
liquid starch or use spray starch. Cornstarch is not the same as liquid starch.

For a decade, I’ve been
experimenting with slime recipes. After trying out the Tide-based
recipe, I quickly learned that this type of formula isn’t suitable
for sensitive skin. Since then, I’ve been on a mission to find a
slime recipe that doesn’t involve harsh ingredients. After
countless experiments, I’ve finally come up with a formula that
doesn’t cause any skin irritation. It’s a go-to slime recipe I use
in my workshops and classes. No matter what slime recipe you use,
it’s important to consider the safety of the ingredients. Laundry
detergents such as Tide contain strong chemicals that can cause
skin irritation. I always suggest my students to use gentler
ingredients for their slime recipes. With careful consideration,
you can make a safe and fun slime recipe that everyone can
enjoy.

4. EYE
DROPS OR EYE WASH

[add_toplist_link post=6]

Last on our list of what you can use to activate
slime is eye drops or eye wash. The main ingredient you will find
in this slime activator is boric
acid
.

With a decade of industry experience, I can
confidently say that boric acid is not a typical cleaning agent. It
is used mainly for preserving, and is often found in eye drops
instead of contact lens solution. However, it can be an effective
and safe cleaning agent for certain applications, such as treating
mold and mildew in hard-to-reach areas. Additionally, some people
even use it in place of laundry detergent. Therefore, while not a
traditional cleaning product, boric acid can still be used for a
variety of cleaning tasks.

Because eye drops do not contain sodium borate,
you will need to at least double the amount you would use for our
saline solution slime recipe. We made a DOLLAR STORE SLIME KIT with
eye drops.

Can you make slime without a slime activator and
glue? You bet! Check out our easy borax free slime recipes
below.  Though do remember a borax free slime will not have
the same amount of stretch as slime made with activator and
glue.

We have tons of ideas for edible or taste-safe
slime including gummy bear slime and marshmallow slime! If you have
kids who love to make slime, you should try making an edible slime
at least once!

CHIA SEED SLIME

[add_toplist_link post=8]

As an experienced expert in the industry, I’ve
been playing around with slime recipes for over 10 years. Today,
I’m confident in saying that chia seeds make the perfect slime
activator and glue alternative. All you need to do is mix chia
seeds with your chosen slime ingredients and you’ll have a
beautiful, gooey concoction without any of the mess and fuss of
traditional activators and glues. Plus, chia seeds are much safer
and easier to work with for younger slime makers. So, if you’re
looking for a quick and easy solution to all your slime-making
needs, give chia seeds a try. You won’t be disappointed.
