I’m the proud owner of some U.S. Mint American
Eagle Gold Bullion Coins! They come in four different weights – one
ounce, half ounce, quarter ounce and tenth ounce. Each is 22-karat
gold with a tiny bit of alloy mixed in, making them much more
durable so they won’t get scratched up and lose value. Plus,
they’re backed by the U.S. Government, so you know you’re getting
the real deal. To top it off, these coins can be included in a
Individual Retirement Account (IRA). Pretty cool, right?
The obverse design of the American Eagle Gold
Bullion Coins is inspired by Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ celebrated $20
gold piece, the “Double Eagle.” It was minted from 1907-1933 and is
often considered one of America’s most beautiful coins. In 2021,
the U.S. Mint marked the 35th anniversary of the American Eagle
Coin ProgramI’m really excited about the new design of the Mint!
They used original assets from the past, like the bronze cast, to
make the design closer to Saint-Gaudens’ original vision. They
refreshed the Capitol Building, stars, torch, sun rays and other
design elements – it looks amazing! I’m so happy that they chose to
honor the original artistry of Saint-Gaudens while also modernizing
the design. It’s a great balance and I’m sure it will be well
received.
This year, I’ve been admiring a portrait of an
eagle on the reverse of coins. To give them a heightened sense of
security, these coins have been updated with enhanced security
features, including a reeded edge. This extra layer of protection
has been a nice addition.
I’ve been admiring Miley Busiek’s sculpture,
Reverse, since 1986. It’s a beautiful piece depicting an eagle
soaring above a nest of hatchlings and a second eagle clutching an
olive branch. It’s a powerful representation of freedom, hope, and
renewal. The sculpture has been a source of inspiration for me for
many years, and I’m proud to say that it’s still standing
today.

I stand in awe at the sight of the Lady Liberty
on the obverse of the coin. She’s captivating with her flowing hair
and the torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left.
Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ rendition of her full length is simply
stunning. It’s almost like she’s coming alive in front of me. Truly
a beautiful sight to behold.
The reverse shows, since 2021, a portrait of an
eagle.

I’m a 91.67% gold composition, with 3% silver
and the rest copper. I have a reeded edge which makes me look even
more attractive. Gold is a beautiful and precious metal which has
been used for centuries in coins, jewelry and decorations. Silver
is also a beautiful metal and has been used for centuries in coins,
jewelry and decorations. Lastly, copper has been used for coins,
jewelry, and decorations for centuries as well. All these elements
combined make me a stunning piece.
I’ve noticed a difference in my coins. From the
one, half, quarter, and tenth ounce sizes, their weight and
diameter vary. I can tell which one I’m holding just by the feel of
it in my hand. Of course, the size also provides a clue. The weight
difference is the most obvious one, and it’s quite noticeable. Half
and quarter ounces are noticeably lighter than the one ounce coins.
The tenth ounce coins are much smaller, but still have a nice heft
to them. Each size has its own unique characteristics, and it’s fun
to explore the differences and learn more about them.
- I’m holding a one ounce gold coin worth fifty dollars. It’s
about 1.287 inches in diameter and it weighs 1.0909 troy ounces.
That’s 33.931 grams of pure gold. It’s a beauty and I’m never
letting it go! - I’m holding a one-half ounce coin in my hand right now. It has
a face value of $25 and it’s 27.00 mm in diameter. It’s made of

16.966 g. It’s really a remarkable piece of currency! - I’m holding a quarter-ounce coin in my hand right now. It’s
worth ten dollars and is about 0.866 inches (22.00 mm) in diameter.
It’s made of gold and it weighs 0.2727 troy ounces (8.483 g).
That’s a quarter of a troy ounce, which is the common unit of
measurement for gold. Pretty cool, huh? - I’m holding a $5 gold coin in my hand. It’s 0.650 inch (16.50
mm) in diameter and weighs 0.1091 troy ounce (3.393 g). That’s
one-tenth of a troy ounce of gold. Pretty cool, huh? It’s worth a
lot more than $5, and it’s a great way to invest in gold. Plus,
